You’re Never To Old

I was shocked this week when a new client recommended to me by one our members asked did I think he might be wasting his time trying to take golf up as a sport in his late sixties, I have always believed that one of the beauties of the sport is that anyone can play and enjoy it, Douglas Bader, a renowned fighter Ace during World War II, serves as a true example for this. Despite losing both his legs in a tragic flying accident, he took up golf and became quite skilled at it, playing with his specially designed artificial legs. This sport captured his heart and he continued to play it with great passion for the rest of his life.

Remember if you are thinking of taking up Golf it is a sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. While many people may think that they are too old to learn how to play golf, the truth is that it is never too late to pick up a club and start swinging.

One of the great things about golf is that it is a low-impact sport that can be played well into old age. This means that even if you are in your golden years, you can still take up golf and enjoy the physical and mental benefits that come with it.

Not only is golf a great form of exercise, but it also requires a lot of mental focus. This means that it can help to keep your mind sharp and agile as you age. Learning new skills and techniques on the course can also help to improve your cognitive abilities.

Furthermore, golf is a social sport that can help you to make new friends and connections, no matter how old you are. Sharing a round of golf and a few laughs with other players is a great way to stay socially active and engaged.

Of course, learning any new skill takes time and patience. But with the right attitude and determination, you can learn to play golf at any age. With practice, you can improve your swing, develop your skills, and even start playing competitively if that is something that interests you.

So don’t let your age hold you back from picking up a golf club and hitting the course. You’re never too old to start learning and enjoying this wonderful sport. Embrace the challenge, have fun, and make some lasting memories out on the green.
